Raising Men
Boy, oh boy!!
I raised a house FULL OF THEM!!
Raising boys to men is such a beautiful privilege, but also a fun, adventurous, rowdy, *sometimes stinky,* competitive, challenging, repetitive journey.
Honestly, I really loved having boys. I grew up with 3 brothers, and found it so fun to get to raise my 3 sons. Now I have 3 sons in love who have grafted in so naturally; fitting so neatly into the brotherhood.
They teach me so much and I hope I have taught them.
To value themselves and value women.
To be humble and authentic even as they desire to be brave and powerful.
To be teachable, and work as a team.
To apologize and ask for forgiveness.
To forgive others.
To have one another’s backs and to have their sister’s backs too.
To stick up for people who can't stick up for themselves.
To not put on masculine airs, but instead; embody solid, humble, masculinity as a God-given responsibility.
To try new things.
To do things scared.
To be open and expressive.
And for the love of all things holy, USE EMOJIS WHEN YOU TEXT YOUR MOM AND SISTERS!!! ❤️😁💫✨😘🦄🏀🙏🏼
It's a privilege to be the woman who raises them for the women who will partner with them for life, and to do so alongside of a man who models how to love their future wives with respect, love, and open affection in the way he treats me and their sisters and now our granddaughter.
Thank you Lord, for the men in my life, and God bless the women and men who are raising their future wives. ❤️
Healthy relationships are a HUGE part a living a great lifestory!
