The Structure of A Great LifeStory
There’s a difference between a busy life and a rooted, purpose driven one.
Busyness can look successful from the outside.
Being rooted feels steady and focused from the inside. (Only you can tell if you’re steady and focused on the inside.)
Over the years — in my marriage with KC, parenting our six kids, building businesses, leading teams, and sitting at countless tables — I’ve noticed something consistent:
Chaos doesn’t usually come from lack of effort.
It comes from lack of defined boundaries.
When we don’t have clarity about what really matters, everything begins to feel panicky; chasing the tyranny of the urgent.
I’ve come to see that every strong LifeStory rests within these seven pillars.
1. Foundation — What Anchors Me
My deep held, core beliefs. My convictions. The roots that anchor my decisions.
2. Identity — Who I Believe I Am
Not a title. Not what other people think about me. Not a curated highlight reel.
3. Alignment — How I Actually Live
Habits. Boundaries around those habits. The daily choices that either support or sabotage my priorities.
4. Relationships — Who I Do Life With
Marriage. Family. Community. Success without connection is hollow.
5. Wellness — My Body I Show Up In & My Emotional Wellbeing
Energy matters. Emotional regulation matters. Depletion distorts leadership.
6. Calling — What I’m Made to Do & Where I Choose to Contribute
The work, service, and influence that flow from my life’s work.
7. Stewardship — What I Manage & What Grows From That
Time. Money. Opportunity. Influence. How do I handle what I’ve been given shapes my legacy.
When one pillar is weak or ignored, instability shows up somewhere else.
When they strengthen together, clarity replaces chaos.
Over the coming months, I’ll be unpacking each of these pillars — offering tools, reflections, and practical guidance to help you build a lifestory - YOUR lifestory - from the inside out.
Because a great LifeStory isn’t accidental.
It’s built — intentionally.
